We have new details on that crash in Ouachita parish in Louisiana. Ray Martin of Carmi is recovering after he had to be life-flighted after the engine failed, resulting in Martin crashing into a McDonald's parking lot.

Carmi Airport Manager Greg Brown has known Martin for a long time and says he is only 1 of 50 pilots in the United States allowed to crop dust at night. He says that Martin has 4,000 hour of flight experience and feels it's that experience that not only kept Martin alive, but also everyone else.

The airplane's engine had just been rebuilt, so Martin took it out for it's first test today. Brown says that Martin called out mayday on the radio, and air traffic controllers tried to guide him back in over a path that would avoid populated areas, but the airplane couldn't make it.
Brown says that Martin is expected to survive, but he has a long road to recovery and it will be quite some time before he can fly again..
