A law letting farmers legally grow industrial hemp passes Indiana's Senate. The full Senate voted in favor, sending the bill to the House.

Hemp is marijuana's non-intoxicating cousin, but it cannot be grown under federal law, though many products made from hemp, such as oils and clothing, are legal.

If the bill passes in the House, farmers or the state will still need federal approval to grow hemp.
