The program asks people within the community to donate shoes they no longer wear or to even purchase a new pair of shoes and donate those instead.
"It's not just to bring new shoes back into the community and help our community," said Gina Gibson of Evansville Christian Life Center, "but it's to help those around the world who literally have no shoes."
28 local churches and several other organizations helped make this year's shoe drive a huge success. More than 13,000 pairs of shoes will surely touch many lives.
