Bonds Sold to Help Pay for I-69 Construction Phase

Another milestone for the I-69 project. A state agency sells nearly $244 million in bonds to help pay for construction of the latest segment.

That's the stretch between Bloomington and Martinsville, a 21 mile reconstruction project that will upgrade IN 37 to interstate standards. It's part of the I-69 extension that will connect Indianapolis and Evansville.

Construction could begin this year with the section expected to open in 2016.
