A stunning upset in today's primary elections. Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has been defeated in the Virginia GOP primary. Tea Party activist Dave Bratt defeated the number two Republican in the House.

Most Republicans considered Cantor as the most conservative member in the House. He was President Barack Obama's chief foil in budget negotiations in 2011, a role he proudly pointed out during this campaign season.
