Illinois Governor Pat Quinn signs landmark legislation to expand voting opportunities in the state.

The new law is designed to encourage participation in elections and to also make the registration and voting process go smoother.

Voters will have more ways to register and cast a ballot before and on Election Day.

The law allows for same day voter registration and removes ID requirements for in-person voting by registered voters.
