Cigarette smoking among Kentucky high school students drops significantly. The commonwealth dropped to sixth place among surveyed states in 2013. That's a major improvement from Kentucky's first place ranking in 2011.

A survey by the Centers for Disease Control shows 17.9 percent of Kentucky high school students smoke, down from 24.1 percent in 2011. The 2013 rate nationwide is 15.7 percent.
