Former icon of Hoosier hysteria has a new owner. An Indianapolis development company bought the Wigwam gymnasium in Anderson.

The group plans to turn the building into office space, space for 55 housing units, and it hopes to allow public use of the old gymnasium. The Anderson School Board agreed to contribute $630,000 to help finance the project.

At one time, the Wigwam was the largest high school gymnasium in the country, but it has not been used for basketball games for several years.
