Same-sex marriage supporters and opponents in the mid-west are weighing in on the legal battle as it heads to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
It`s a battle that could go all the way to the Supreme Court. But, the next step in Indiana and Wisconsin's fight for same-sex marriage  begins in Chicago.
There are several pro same-sex marriage rallies taking place.
But, not everyone is on the same side of the issue.
Indiana's Attorney General, whose job is to defend the state's laws in
court, talked about the fight ahead of him.
The Attorney General said, “Obviously we're hoping this issue is resolved quickly and permanently.  I think it`s unfortunate people are in this legal limbo that's why it`s so important we hurry these cases thru the process get back to the  Supreme Court where we'll get a definitive answer."
3 judges were on the panel this morning. The process of having different judges examine the underlying issues is helping to prepare the groundwork for what is expected to be an ultimate resolution at the US Supreme Court.
A ruling from the Federal Court could take anywhere from weeks to months.
