Target Asking Customers to Not Bring in Firearms

Target is asking customers to leave their guns at home.

Target Interim CEO John Mulligan posted a note online today. It says guns in stores create, in Mulligan's words, "an environment that is at odds with the family-friendly shopping and work experience we strive to create."

Target does not sell firearms or ammunition. The company says it will abide by all local gun laws.

Chipotle, Starbucks, Jack in the Box, Sonic, and Chili's also have recently announced a ban against firearms.
