Trial Date Scheduled for Deadly Franklin St. Fire

- The Evansville man charged with setting an apartment fire that killed three people is scheduled to go to trial in October.

Christopher Compton had asked the court for a change of venue. That request will be heard by the court in July.

Investigators say Compton started the fire on W. Franklin St. on March 17. 3-year-old Jazmine Jones, her mother, Keri, and 76-year-old Donald Lankford were killed.
