Nationally known Dr. Stanton Glantz is in town talking about how Evansville can better combat tobacco and e-cigarettes.
Glantz led a charge in California to reduce exposure to smoking. Indiana has nearly double the smoking rate of California.
Director of Smokefree Evansville Casey Williams hopes Glantz can sway city leaders to restore the ordinance that Indiana's Supreme Court struck down earlier this year.
Doctor Glantz is also here to speak about e-cigarettes.
He says although early research suggests e-cigs are a healthier alternative to regular smokes, they still have harmful carcinogens that could cause cancer.
