U.S. Senate Agrees on Deal to Extend Jobless Benefits

- A group of U.S. Senators reach a deal to extend unemployment benefits for five months.

Five Republicans have signed the $10 billion measure, meaning it should clear the Democratic-led chamber. A vote is not expected until after next week's recess.

The program that extended jobless benefits for millions of Americans expired back in December. Efforts to renew it since then have fallen short due to concerns over spending.
