The U.S. Supreme Court gives limited approval to public prayer at town meetings, but the justices did not define how every community should handle civic prayer.

Today's ruling comes after two women in the town of Greece, New York sued town officials over invocations at public government meetings.

The justices ruled the council did not violate the First Amendment when they opened their meetings with prayer.
