Good news for Vanderburgh County, FEMA will help pay for expenses incurred during this Winter's arctic blast.

Indiana Governor Mike Pence announced today that Vanderburgh County is among nine additional counties that will receive federal aid. The money will help pay for damages caused by the early January storm that affected much of the Hoosier State.

Vanderburgh County was initially denied aid but was among those successful in appeal.

The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility is among those in consideration for the funds. Director Allen Mounts says the federal dollars would help offset the city's costs caused by hundreds of water main breaks.

The FEMA grants will pay 75 percent of eligible expenses for damage to roads, bridges, utilities, and more.
