A resolution may be in sight for Vanderburgh County and companies involved in the 2011 widening and elevating of a section of N. Green River Road.
Vanderburgh County commissioners are working on an agreement with Blankenberger Brothers, Inc. to fix what they believe to be multiple problems with the road. The county filed a lawsuit against Blankenberger Brothers and several other companies in 2013.
County Commissioner Stephen Melcher said they’re hoping to have the road fixed by the end of summer. Under the agreement, he said the other companies involved in the lawsuit would pay Blankenberger Brothers to make the repairs.
He said the repairs won’t cost taxpayers, but any legal fees will. He said they will not know how much the legal fees will cost until the matter is resolved.
Melcher expects to have a final vote on the agreement in the middle of May.
Eyewitness News reached out to Blankenberger Brothers, but did not receive a response.
