About three months after Super Flea Market in Evansville closed, a new flea market has opened up.

Vann Avenue Vendors Market president Tony Bell said he noticed an opening in the market and wanted to take advantage of it.

About 45 vendors who used to be set up at Super Flea Market have moved to his market. Many of the vendors have known Bob Savage, the former owner of Super Flea Market, for years. Some said they were shocked by the allegations against him, others said they weren’t really surprised.

Savage, along with 18 others, were arrested and charged Tuesday. Authorities believe they were involved in a multi-million dollar theft ring.  According to the federal indictment, one of the group’s leaders conducted some deals at the former Super Flea Market.

Savage has posted a $25,000 bond and is no longer being held in the Vanderburgh County jail.
