The Vanderburgh Humane Society is still doing health evaluations on the more than 30 dogs rescued from filthy conditions last week.

VHS officials say once their health has been checked and they do a temperament test, then the 31 dogs will be put up for adoption.

Last week, 33 dogs were pulled from a Pike County home outside Petersburg. There was not enough food, water, or clean conditions. Many had injuries and infections. Two had to be euthanized.
