20 years after being convicted of murdering a woman in Newburgh, a Warrick County court denies Mark Jervis' request to get out of prison early. Jervis was sentenced to 60 years in 1995.

Last October, he appeared in Warrick County to request post-conviction relief, citing his declining health.

Jervis was convicted of murdering 33-year-old Terri Boyer in August of 1993. Her body was found behind the old Newburgh Cinema off Robin Hill Rd.

At October's court hearing, Boyer's family was there and spoke with us about how important they felt it was Jervis stay in jail.

Since his request for early release was denied, his projected release date is May of 2023. Jervis is 68 years old.
