Union County Fiscal Court Audit Released

For nearly a year, the FBI has been investigating the Union County Fiscal Court for buying allegedly stolen equipment in 2014.

Now, a state report obtained by Eyewitness News raises additional issues and more questions in Union County.

The Kentucky State Auditor's Office released its scathing audit Wednesday.

Some of the findings included in this 56-page audit include sloppy book keeping, lack of internal controls and violations of state law.

Contained in the audit are the responses from Union Cunty Judge Executive Jody Jenkins.

In his responses, Jenkins said the issues have either been corrected or they are in the process of being corrected.

But nowhere in the audit does Jenkins refute or disagree with what the state found.

State auditors say some of their findings have been forwarded to Kentucky State Police and the FBI.
