Webster County Man Sentenced for Attempted Murder

A man is sentenced to 15 years for a number of charges, including attempted murder.

Tommy Branson was sentenced today in the Webster County Circuit Court for attempted murder, assault, wanton endangerment, tampering with evidence, and fleeing with police.

He pleaded guilty last month.

Kentucky State Police say Branson fired shots into a Webster County home in February. Police say Branson also hit a Webster County Deputy with his car. Troopers fired shots at Branson's car and hit it, but he drove off.

Officials say they caught up with Branson after a short pursuit on Highway 132 in Dixon. The deputy was not seriously hurt according to police.
