YMCA Takes part in Global Swimming Record Attempt

A global record attempt for the World's Largest Swimming lesson is underway Friday in 13 countries.
In Evansville, the downtown YMCA hosted 2 lessons in hopes of being apart of a new Guiness World record.
Organizers say it's a friendly competition that creates awareness about water safety.
Drowning remains the leading cause of unintended injury related deaths for children under the age of 5 and the 2nd leading cause of accidental death under the age  of 14.
Last year more than 3200 people worldwide participated in the record.
Today's swimming lessons were free of charge and also available to non YMCA members.
