Jasper to Begin 2017 Season on Renovated Field

Tony Ahrens has been coaching at Jasper for 15 seasons, but he's never experienced what the Wildcats will experience this year. Just in time for the 2017 season, the Wildcats have a freshly renovated, state of the art field.

The project, which is estimated to cost around $900,000, brings a new artificial turf to the Wildcats, as well as improvements to the track.

On Monday, the Wildcats practiced for the first time on the new turf, praising the way it played despite a rainy morning. Ahrens also praised the community for their support with the project.

The Wildcats will host their season opener on the renovated field on August 18th against Memorial.
