Otters hosting 'Strike Out Stroke' event before game

A stroke survivor will meet the doctor that removed a blood clot from his brain in a unique way on Wednesday.

Deaconess is hosting “Strike Out Stroke” at Bosse Field before the Otters face the Gateway Grizzlies.

The first pitch will arrive via helicopter.

On that air evac ride will be a stroke survivor, who will be greeted by his doctor on the ground before throwing out the first pitch.

Activities at the event include stroke risk assessments, blood pressure, screenings, and stroke education.

Free tickets are available for pickup at both Deaconess hospitals in the Evansville area.
