Racing Favorite Brass Hat Returns to Ellis Park for Special Visit

One of the most beloved racehorses of this decade, Brass Hat, returned to Ellis Park this afternoon.

The 16-year old horse took part in a fan meet-and-greet and paraded around the paddock as part of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Day, a program honoring retired race horses. Fans also got a chance to meet Bradley and Brass Hat's jockey Calvin Borel, as well as have them sign free Brass Hat posters.

Brass Hat was raised and trained by Buff Bradley and his late father, Fred, and won over $2 million in his racing career. Today, the racing retiree spends his days on the Bradley Farm, enjoying retired life.
