Evansville's newest hockey team wasn't able to pull off the victory in the home opener of their inaugural season.

When it was all said and done, Evansville lost to the Mississippi River Kings 4-3 in a shootout.

As a result of the shootout loss, the Thunderbolts gained a point in the SPHL standings.

The Thunderbolts will be back on the ice next Friday when they host the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs.
