Tom Crean Speaks in Evansville

Tom Crean visited Evansville on Sunday for his first public appearance since parting ways with Indiana basketball.

Crean was fired as Indiana head coach back in March and was in Evansville this afternoon to speak at the National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete Banquet as a last-minute replacement for his father-in-law, Jack Harbaugh.

Crean spent time with each of the seven scholar athletes recognized at the banquet, sharing advice about overcoming adversity and other life lessons, before taking the podium as the program's guest speaker.

The former IU coach said he is still weighing the options for what the next chapter of his career will hold, and in the meantime, spending quality time with his family.
