Wilbur Shaw Featured at Racing Day Auction

How would you like to take home a piece of racing history?  Ripley Auctions is gearing up for a pre-race auction that could allow you to do just that.

Inside Indiana Business reports that on Friday, May 24th, Ripley will be offering a number of racing related items, including items of Big Race importance.  They include personal effects from the collection of Wilbur Shaw, the first consecutive Big Race winner.  Some of those items include the Borg Warner plaques that Shaw received for each of his three victories and items from his office and home.

Other items include a prototype of the winning driver's ring worn by modern race champions.  

The auction, titled, "Important Racing Memorabilia, will take place at 5p.m. on Friday, May 24th at the Indiana Landmarks Center in downtown Indianapolis.  For more information, visit www.ripleyauctions.com.
