Indiana State Police say two people are dead and one is in critical condition after an accident in Perry County.

Troopers say around 12:30 Thursday morning, a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed ran off State Road 66 near the Cannelton Lock and Dam and hit a tree.  The vehicle then caught on fire.

Troopers say the two people killed were trapped in the car and that one was the driver.  Another passenger was taken to an Owensboro hospital and later to Louisville for critical injuries.
