280 new production jobs are coming to Evansville.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke announced, Friday, that Berry Plastics will be relocating some production equipment, allowing for the creation of the new positions.

Berry is investing about 31 million dollars in all of its Indiana facilities, including plants in Gibson and Wayne Counties.

Berry Plastics CEO, Jon Rich says investing in Evansville was an easy choice.

"We make decisions that are in the best interests of our shareholders and our customers and I'm really proud to say that Evansville has continued to be the most attractive place to make those investments but we will reassess that with every investment we make", Rich said.

Berry Plastics will start accepting applications for the positions later this year.
