The fire started around 4:00 in the 9900 block of Crestview Place. That's near Grimm Road and State Road 662.
When crews arrived, the house was already fully engulfed in flames. The cold temperatures made things more difficult for firefighters.
"We had some challenges this morning with the extreme cold temperatures. Our first hydrant we got to was frozen up, so it took a little time to get that hydrant opened up, so we could get water flowing from it", said Newburgh Assistant Fire Chief Chad Bennett.
Crews say part of the house fell on a firefighter, but he was uninjured.
Investigators say the family that lives in the home was on vacation.
