911 Gives Hope Boasts Successful Year Despite Winter Weather

It starts with an empty semi. But after months of fundraising, we're getting to see what the 911 Gives Hope Foundation has collected.

We caught up with organizers at Deaconess Gateways' loading dock. Gateway received a few of about 35 pallets full of electronics, toys, and other items. All of which will go to sick and injured children.

A lot of the kids are spending their Christmas in the hospital. Townsquare Media, Evansville Police, and the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office make up a portion of 911 Gives Hope.

"They are people's inspirations sometimes," said 10-year-old Cole Ambrose. "So, it just makes me feel good, and I would just like to donate to them sometimes."

The Winter storm did have an impact on the fundraising efforts earlier this month. But with a little extra work, organizers say this is still their most successful year so far.
