This year's winner is Abraham Brown, a well-known leader of the Latino community in Henderson. He was chosen for his efforts to help bridge the communication gap between some city leaders and Hispanic residents.
Brown publishes a Spanish language news publication and has managed the Annual Latino Health Fair in Henderson for the last few years, all things he says he couldn't have done on his own.
"It is a recognition for the Latino community and for the efforts of different people," said Brown. "I have a team of people helping me do all these projects. This recognition goes to them to help other minorities be successful in the city."
Brown also works as the Director of Latino Ministry for Holy Name Catholic Church.
