Accident at Daviess County Racetrack Kills Spectator

The Daviess County Sheriff's Office confirms a race car hit another car at Windy Hollow Speedway. They say the car then hit a wall and utility pole before hitting several spectators in the pit area.
Daviess County Coroner, Jeff Jones has released the name of the man killed at a Daviess County racetrack on Sunday.

The accident happened Sunday night at Windy Hollow Speedway.  Investigators say a car hit a wall and utility pole before hitting several spectators in the pit area.

Three people were taken to the hospital where one of them died a short time later, He has been identified as 21-year-old Ryan Peters of Owensboro.  Jones says Peters died from internal injuries suffered in the crash.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.  We will bring you additional information as it becomes available.
