Athletic Directors Scramble to Rearrange Schedules

Last week's winter storms affected Tri-State high school winter sports schedules.
High schools are returning to their normal schedules after winter storms forced them to delay or cancel games and meets.

Mater Dei Athletic Director Joe Herrmann said wrestling, swimming and basketball were all affected by the weather. Herrmann said he's used to rescheduling games in the springtime, but rarely in the winter.

"Our winters haven't been that bad so usually you might have one a year you might have to reschedule in the wintertime, but this year obviously with three or four days we had to cancel games before Christmas. It makes it a little difficult, especially knowing that maybe the worst part may still be ahead of us," Herrmann said.

Herrmann said boys and girls basketball will play the games they missed in January. He said the wrestling and swim meets that were planned for this past weekend will likely not be rescheduled.
