Balentine Stays Hot in Big Win For Aces

D.J. Balentine records his third straight game of 29 points in Aces win over Mercer.
D.J. Balentine still has the hot hand going 7-16 from the field and hitting 14 free throws to record his third straight 29 point game to start the season for the undefeated Aces.  Freshman Duane Gibson added 23 points of his own and Egidijus Mockevicius had eight rebounds in a solid effort for the Aces.
The 89-76 victory was the third straight for Evansville to start the year, and Balentine's streak of more than 20 points in the first three games of the season is the best since his coach, Marty Simmons, did it in 1987.
The Aces have a tough stretch ahead with three games in six days. Valparaiso comes to Ford Center Wednesday and the Aces travel to Bloomington to face Indiana November 26th.
