Another Indiana University joins a coalition against amending the state constitution to ban same-sex marriage. Ball state joins IU, DePauw, Wabash College, and Hanover College by opposing a constitutional ban on same-sex marriages in the state.

The proposal will be up for debate in the January session of the State General Assembly. Major employers like Eli Lily also oppose the ban.

The Freedom Indiana Coalition was formed this Summer to oppose an amendment to Indiana's constitution that would define marriage as only being between a man and a woman.

Purdue University, USI, and UE have decided to not get involved in the debate.
