The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is trying to find a bourbon thief inside the walls of Buffalo Trace Distillery.
The distillery reported Wesnesday more than $26,000 worth of rare, Pappy Van Winkle 20-year-old bourbon, nearly 200 bottles, has been stolen over the past few months. Nine cases of Pappy Van Winkle Rye bourbon has also been reported stolen.
Franklin County Sheriff, Pat Melton, said he believes it is an inside job.
Melton said the thieves removed the cases from the middle section of pallets, in order to fool inventory takers.
He said since bourbon is a federally regulated good, the ATF has been notified.
