The Gibson County Sheriff has confirmed to Eyewitness News that Thomas Davidson is now charged with Murder in relation to the body being recovered in a field in White County, Illinois, between Carmi and Crossville.

White County Sheriff Doug Maier told Eyewitness News yesterday that he believes the body will be connected to the Gibson County, Indiana missing person case of Sandra Burkhardt, 58.
Early Saturday evening authorities detained Thomas Davidson, 25, in Pike County. Davidson has reportedly lived in both Louisiana and parts of White County, Illinois. Investigators said Davidson was being questioned for his suspected involvement in a Saturday morning incident in Posey County and the Gibson County missing person case.
Mount Vernon Police say shortly before 7 a.m. a man fired a shot inside a vehicle somewhere near the Hucks gas station on West 4th Street. Officers say a woman, identified as Kiersten Young, 19, of Mt. Vernon was being held inside the vehicle at gun point. She was able to escape without getting shot and ran to the Hucks for help.
Late Saturday night Mt. Vernon Police confirmed the arrest of Davidson on charges relating to the Posey County incident. Investigators say Davidson confessed to the alleged crime. He is charged with aggravated battery, criminal confinement with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon and a felon in possession of a firearm.
