Car Wash Owner Doing His Best to Conserve Water

Jeff Riney, owner of First Avenue Car Wash, said he turned off the only piece of high pressure equipment at his shop Friday.

Jeff Riney, owner of First Avenue Car Wash, said he saw more business than usual Friday because of salt on cars from the cold spell earlier in the week.

However, Riney said he took Mayor Lloyd Winnecke’s request for water conservation seriously. Riney said he turned off the only piece of high pressure equipment at the car wash.

When there is a water shortage, Riney said it’s better to go to a car wash because they use low pressure nozzles controlled by a computer that only spray a certain amount of water.
