Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and emergency personnel met Friday to discuss a plan of action for the approaching winter storm.

They advised the public to stock up on food, put blankets in the car, keep the gas tank full, charge cell phones and check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Evansville Police Department Assistant Chief Chris Pugh said they will have a full staff, but their response time may be affected by the weather.

The Department of Transportation said they will have their plows out early Sunday to combat the four to eight inches of predicted snow.

Extremely low temperatures are expected on Monday and Tuesday.
