A fundraising war is on between Republican Incumbent Mitch McConnell and Democrat Alison Lundgeran Grimes in the race for Kentucky's Senate seat.

Grimes is the current secretary of state. Records show she's banked $2.5 million in the last three months compared to McConnell's $2.3 million. Her political adviser says that's thanks to more than 13,000 individual donations.

Mcconnell's overall fundraising total is $17.7 million for the election cycle. The Senate majority leader is fighting for his sixth term.
