Committee Submits Proposed Changes to Sign Ordinance

First they were cited. Now they want change.
First they were cited. Now they want change.

Several businesses along W. Franklin St. in Evansville were ticketed for displaying temporary signs like ones advertising specials. Those signs violate a city and county sign ordinance. Most of those tickets have since been tossed out.

Now a committee of business owners and city leaders propose changing the law, where you wouldn't need a permit to put out a temporary sign. It still needs to be heard by the Area Plan Commission and the full council.
