An Evansville man is sentenced to 11 years in prison as part of a plea agreement in the death of his girlfriend.

Demetrius Compton pleaded guilty to first degree manslaughter last month. He was arrested in connection with the death of Brystal Chambers, who was found dead in her Henderson home in June of 2011.

Investigators say Compton was her boyfriend, and that the couple had a child together. Chambers' death was ruled a homicide by strangulation.
