Councilman Jonathan Weaver Reacts to Monday's Mattingly Way Discussion

Councilman Jonathan Weaver speaks out regarding the Mattingly Way tabling in Monday's City Council Meeting.
The proposal to rename a section of North Main Street from the status quo to Don Mattingly Way has been tabled for discussion.
That's the way it was left until a meeting scheduled for August 26th by the Evansville City Council.
Mattingly, the current Dodgers' manager grew up playing baseball in Garvin Park; the site that would be affected by the name change.
Public Works Committee chairman Conor O'Daniel wants to get more input about making the entire stretch of road two-ways and also questions whether city council has the authority to rename the stretch, since part of it is on Parks and Recreation property.
Jonathan Weaver doesn't understand why the proposal was tabled last night.
