Councilmen Conor O'Daniel and Al Lindsey said Friday they both eventually want to see a hotel at the proposed site in downtown Evansville, but, for now, would like to have a parking lot.
O'Daniel and Lindsey said the IU Medical School project should take precedent over the hotel and will be voting 'no' at Monday's city council meeting.
John Friend, who was reached by phone, said he agrees with the idea of turning the property into a temporary parking lot.
Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley, Dan Adams and Connie Robinson could not be reached for comment. The three are the other confirmed 'no' votes.
