10 Digit Dialing for Evansville-Vanderburgh Co. Starts in September

Starting September 6, if you live in the 812/930 area code, you'll have to dial 10 digits, the area code plus the number for local calls.
A reminder from the city of Evansville and Vanderburgh County. Starting September 6, if you live in the 812/930 area code, you'll have to dial 10 digits, the area code plus the number for local calls.

Officials encourage you to start dialing area codes now to get into the habit of dialing full numbers.

The new area code covers the same geographic area as the current 812 area code and is needed because of the shrinking number of unused 812 numbers.
