6th Grader Gets Published

A 6th Grader at Thompkins Middle School was at Barnes and Noble signing copies of the book she was published in.
Last winter, Laine Kennedy, a 6th grader at Thompkins Middle School, entered a national writing contest sponsored by Read3Zero--and she became one of 55 young authors across the country to have her works published in the book, "I Write Short Stories for Kids by Kids."

Kennedy's short story, "Untamed" and her poem, "My Room" were both published in the book.

She was at Barnes and Noble today, signing copies of the book--which is now available for purchase.

The writing contest was sponsored by Read3Zero; an organization that encourages kids to read at least 30 minutes each day.
