New analysis by the Indiana State Health Department shows the abortion rate in the state continues to trend downward.

According to their findings, there were 8,027 abortions statewide in 2013. That's down from 8,808 in 2012 and represents a nearly nine percent drop. And since 1980, those numbers have been cut in half.

Last year's numbers were the lowest since 1975, one year after the Supreme Court legalized abortions nationwide.
