Update: Names of Victims Released in Deadly Accident

A major accident closes the intersection of U.S. 41 and Washington Ave.
UPDATE (7:30 P.M.): The Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office has identified the two victims in today's deadly crash.

Jacob W. Nelson age 21 of Evansville died at the scene of injuries sustained in the accident.

Sean M. Malicoat age 25 of Evansville died a short time later at St. Mary's Hospital also of injuries sustained in the accident.

UPDATE (6:05 P.M.):
EPD says the intersection will re-open to traffic at 6:15 p.m.

UPDATE (4:20 P.M.):
EPD confirms a second death in the accident at U.S. 41 and Washington Ave. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

UPDATE (3:20 P.M.):
Evansville police confirm one dead and one taken to the hospital. Intersections at Lincoln Ave. and Covert Ave. are also closed at this time. EPD says the intersection will remain closed for several hours.

PREVIOUS:
An Evansville intersection is closed to traffic after a multi-vehicle accident. Evansville Police say it happened at U.S. 41 and Washington Ave.

EPD confirms multiple ambulances have been called to the scene. Officers request drivers to avoid the area.
